The Dark Snow Project gathers ‘hard numbers’ from the Arctic to quantify the distant snow/ice melting impact of industrial and wildfire black carbon soot; mineral dust; and microbes, each melt factor having some human driven enhancement.

We bridge science and the public by engagement through web video, blogs, TV, film, online/print media, and public speaking. To inspire, especially the next generation, we present science in its adventurous and noble form. Our media products are a form of “edutainment” or “scientainment”. We not only gather data and but analyze it to check global model calculations/projections and develop baseline climate data records. We target publication in top core scientific journals. We invite the science and art communities to use the Dark Snow brand to amplify their message. We showcase excellence at We lead thinking by getting ahead of the slow and rigid conventional funding system through crowd funding and foundation support.
